Project Description
With our rapidly growing region, traffic, safety & connectivity are key concerns for Bridle Trails residents. We’ve hosted at our General Meetings speakers from City Council, Transportation Committee as well Sound Transit & Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDT) to address topics of congestion & safety as well as road, trail & sidewalks improvements for walkers, bikers, drivers & commuters. Over the years, we’ve had number of wins for our community such as diverting a 520 ramp on 130th Ave, NE & Sound Transit Maintenance Facility on NorthUp Way.
Currently, our residents are concerned about the impact of the new Bel-Red/130th Rail Station targeted for 2023 on the traffic & access to our neighborhoods.
Sound Transit 130the Ave Bel-Red Station
2005-2009, a number of BTCC members contributed to the Bel-Red Road Comprehensive Plan. As part of the deal to accept zoning change to mix-use density in Bel-Red Subarea, Bridle Trails residents were assured preservation of their residential wooded lots & green spaces. The Urbanist Artist Rendering of Bel-Red/130th Station
Sound Transit has commissioned artist Patrick Marold (Denver, CO) for the station stainless steel guardrail art to add a little shadow magic to the otherwise ordinary commute.
